Reliable And Safer Aeration Systems

Surface Mounted For Safety & Easier Maintenance

Quality EchoStorm Venturi Aerators are Safer and Easier to Access

EchoStorm venturi aerators from Gorman-Rupp are static devices installed in-line on the discharge side of a Gorman-Rupp centrifugal pump. It is used to introduce dissolved oxygen into dams, lagoons and tanks. The water is drawn from the body of water to be treated, and as it moves through the EchoStorm internal nozzle, a drop in pressure is created, known as the Venturi Effect. The Venturi Effect creates a vacuum and ambient air is drawn into the body of the EchoStorm. The air then mixes with the pumped water or wastewater and is discharged, saturated with dissolved oxygen.

The EchoStorm aerator fits perfectly with Gorman-Rupp’s pump products in that they are safer and easier for operators to access. This makes them more likely to receive routine maintenance, extending product service life, and extending the periods between major services and intervention events.

Exclusive to Hydro Innovations

Hydro Innovations represents Gorman-Rupp in Australia for the distribution of this excellent line of aerators. The EchoStorm embodies the Hydro Innovations philosophy of providing products that are safer for operators and cost effective for asset owners.

Gorman-Rupp is an American manufacturer that designs, casts, machines, assembles and tests their products in the USA. They do not rely on imported castings, and in fact, all of the foundries they use are within a day’s drive of their plant so that they can monitor, liaise with and build relationships with the people providing them with these important components.

Safest Aeration System

EchoStorm venturi aerators are the safest aerators to maintain. They do not require the emptying of tanks, dams or lagoons or confined spaces entry. They also do not require cranes to access them or operators to jump into boats to reach them. They don’ require 415V power cables to run through or over water to power them.

Gorman-Rupp EchoStorm units are mounted on the banks of dams or lagoons or tanks, not floating or submerged in the water to be treated. This means operators do not have to work with heavy swinging weights or work over [waste] water.

They are also the safest to install. No large cranes to lower surface mounted units, no running power cables over the water.

Lowest Maintenance Cost

Because EchoStorm aerators are mounted on the bank, they are very easy to access for monitoring. Because of this, routine maintenance is much more likely to be done, improving reliability and extending product life. No cranes, boats or tethers are required to access them, and no need to build infrastructure, like floating walkways.

EchoStorm units are “powered” by Gorman-Rupp pumps, which have a reputation for being easy to work on and service and for being super reliable. The EchoStorm unit is a static device with no moving parts, with nothing to adjust or refill with expensive oil [like some floating aerators need].

The only maintenance required is on the pumps. Gorman-Rupp Super T, Ultra V and Super U Series pumps, used with the EchoStorm units, are simple for operators to maintain. Internal clearances can be adjusted in minutes, without removing the pumps from service, and even major overhauls can be done relatively quickly by one person.

EchoStorm Applications

Applications for the EchoStorm systems are many and include:-

  • BOD, COD and TKN reduction
  • CO2 Stripping to raise pH, allowing for nitrification to begin
  • Odour reduction
  • Algae control
  • Leachate aeration
  • Aerobic sludge digestion
  • Lake destratification
  • Wastewater aeration
  • Non-chemical corrosion control
  • Mixing and equalization
  • Wastewater conditioning
  • Mine water treatment
