Dewatering Pumps

Gorman-Rupp “Prime-assisted” pumps use either a compressor/venturi priming system or diaphragm pump primer. Many models feature rugged, two-vane, ductile iron semi-open solids handling impellers that handle up to 101mm solids [depending on model], allowing these versatile performers to move large volumes of water quickly… even when sticks, stones and other debris would normally prevent a problem.
Run-dry capability is also designed into each pump, having over-sized seals and large seal oil reservoirs, making them ideal for applications where suction lines are long or oversized, or where flows are intermittent.

With flow capacity to 940 litres per second, and pressures to 170 metres, these pumps can be depended on for positive, reliable priming and pumping time after time. They are available in ductile cast iron or CD4MCu [a duplex stainless steel] in some models.

Transfer/Standpipe Pumps

Gorman-Rupp has a range of self-priming pumps ideal for water and dirty water transfer, including for standpipe operations. Pumps can be driven by electric motors or diesel engines. Pumps are available with flow rates from 5 L/s through to 200 L/s, and pressures to 90 metres. They are also able to operate on suction lifts to 7.6 metres, and be able to prime and re-prime automatically completely unattended.

Gorman-Rupp self-priming pumps have oil-lubricated, hard-faced mechanical seals, a removable rotating assembly, external “shim-less” internal clearance adjustment, and dual bearing protection. This delivers a pump that is more reliable, easier to maintain and longer lasting than other pump types.

Wastewater [Sewage] Pumps

While the use of submersible pumps for sewage pumping stations is the “conventional” approach, the use of self-priming sewage pumps can improve safety, minimize intervention, and generate a much higher return on investment.
Gorman-Rupp Super T Series pumps have been used in the USA for sewage pump station transfer for over five decades, and used in Australian sewage treatment plants for almost as long. Australian engineers now realise that the self-priming option is much safer and requires much less intervention, and because of this, delivers a system that needs less personnel to maintain and assets have longer life cycles.

Besides their obvious safety and access benefits, the pumps have been developed to handle solids better than anything else. As solids have changed [with the introduction of the likes of wet wipes etc], Gorman-Rupp have met the challenge with product development. Their revolutionary “Eradicator®” and “Eradicator Plus®” technologies enable these pumps to pass troublesome materials like rags, gloves, rope and wet wipes.

These sewage pumps can operate on suction lifts to 7.6 metres and provide flows to 160 litres per second.

Slurry Pumps

For low-flow slurry pumping applications, the Ragazzini peristaltic pump is the ideal choice. It can deliver continuous flows to 20 litres per second, and pressures to 15 bar.

Ragazzini peristaltic pumps create a high vacuum, so can get the fluid moving, and can operate on suction lift applications. Solid particles and abrasive fluids can be handled, making the pump durable and versatile.

The pumps do not have valves or seals to clog, repair or replace, which makes them super reliable and easy to maintain. The pumped fluid does not come in contact with the mechanical moving parts, as only the flanges and the tubular element [hose] are in contact with the pumped media.

Thanks to the operating principle of the pump, it can run dry without damage, and because rollers are used, there is no messy and expensive fluid needed in the pump casing, and pumps can be equipped with leak detectors to alert operators of the need to change a hose. The optional “retractable roller system” can make the operator’s life even easier by simplifying hose changes, and it can also lengthen the life of the hose.

G Series positive displacement, self-priming rotary gear pumps are manufactured with unique features that enable them to perform better and last longer than any other gear pump on heavy duty lubrication applications.

These pumps are equipped with numerous features that make them the number one choice for lubrication. Their in-built idler pin lubrication system cools and lubricated the highest wear area in a rotary gear pump. The internal seal cavity pressure relief system minimizes pressure on seal faces, delivering longer service life. And the “deep end-feed area” provides better suction for low inlet pressure conditions.
Gorman-Rupp G Series rotary gear pumps are also the easiest and safest to service, with a “no-leak” pressure relief valve adjustment and back pull-out design.

Fuel Transfer Pumps

The Gorman-Rupp Roto-Prime range of self priming centrifugal pumps is specifically designed for pumping petroleum products, petrochemicals and solvents. The Roto-Prime fuel pump incorporates a variable capacity vane [priming] pump which quickly and automatically evacuates air and vapour from suction lines, making them ideal for loading, off-loading transports and stripping hoses.

These pumps are very unique, having an internal rotary vane priming pump to quickly move air or vapour from the suction side to the discharge side. After the priming is done, the centrifugal pump takes over and the priming pump moves into “neutral”. If the pump ever loses prime because of a vapour or air pocket, the priming pump takes over immediately to move it quickly to the discharge and resume fuel pumping service.

Roto-prime pumps can operate of suction lifts, can produce flows to 90 litres per second and heads to 115 metres. Options include stainless steel shafts, bronze impellers, and purpose built air release valves.
